4 Mistakes to avoid while using Twitter for Business
Twitter is a very fast, interactive, and quick way for people to receive their updates. Everyone from a personal account to a business owns a Twitter account that constantly ensures that the others know what they have been up to or what they are thinking. All of this is good, but just showing up on Twitter and tweeting your endless ideas and information isn’t enough to keep people following you – this can lead you to lose a lot of followers, if you’re not doing it right.
Here are the 4 major mistakes you should avoid as a business page:
1. Don’t forget to check your links! If you’re posting a link to the tweet, ensure that it is correct and don’t waste people’s time. Firstly, people are not a fan of having to click another link to read more, but because they are eager to know what’s on the other side, they will click it. Secondly, just because they are eager does not mean you should take advantage of it. Be accurate with the information you give out.
2. Don’t deviate from the brand! It’s extremely important that the way you tweet represents your brand – your creativity, your style, your company. Don’t try to be ‘hip-y’ and ‘cool’ just to get your followers attention. Be interesting, be informative, and be timely. If your humor falls flat, people will walk out on your act. Understand that your brand embodies every aspect of your business, not just the way it looks.
3. Do not over-tweet Nothing annoys the followers more than just one person bombarding their home page. Minimise your tweets to once or twice per day, just enough to get the information your followers want.
4. Do not use more than 3 Hashtags! We spoke about hashtags and how you should use them in our previous emailers. Keep those points in mind –
